National Museum of Military History
The (Luxembourg) Ardennes were the scene of several battles, the most famous being the Battle of the Ardennes during World War II. This Ardennes Offensive was the German Wehrmacht’s last major offensive on the Western Front.
Bock Casemates
The Bock Casemates are one of Luxembourg’s most important landmarks. This vast network of underground tunnels and galleries was used as an air-raid shelter during World War II and could accommodate up to 1,200 soldiers.
Pétrusse Casemates
The Pétrusse Casemates in Luxembourg are a popular tourist attraction that draws thousands of visitors each year. These underground tunnels were originally built in the 17th century to protect the city from enemies. During World War II, the casemates were used as shelters for civilians.
Copper Mine Museum
In Stolzembourg, in the Our Valley, lies an old copper mine that has been open to the public for several years. Far from Luxembourg's typical industrial areas, copper ore was already being extracted here 500 years ago. Persistent flooding eventually brought the mining activity to an end.
