Events and festivals in Luxembourg

This autumn, Luxembourg will witness a historic moment: Grand Duke Henri will officially hand over the crown to his eldest son, Prince Guillaume.

From October 3 to 5, 2025, the capital and the entire country will be the scene of festive and ceremonial events. On Friday, the abdication and the swearing-in will take place, followed by a celebratory programme in Luxembourg City. On Saturday, the new Grand Duke and Grand Duchess Stéphanie will tour the country and meet citizens in various municipalities. Sunday will conclude the weekend with a solemn mass in the cathedral.

A unique occasion where tradition, national pride, and festive celebration come together.
