Cycling in Luxembourg during the Jean Nelissen Classic

The Jean Nelissen Classic is an annual cycling event with both start and finish in Vianden, located a short distance from La Sapinière. The ride offers several demanding routes, suitable for both keen recreational cyclists and experienced riders.

The route takes you through the Luxembourg Ardennes and the impressive Müllerthal (Little Switzerland), featuring varied climbs, quiet roads and panoramic viewpoints. Thanks to its peaceful location and green surroundings, La Sapinière is a comfortable and ideal base for both participants and supporters of the Jean Nelissen Classic.

From the park, you can directly access the trails of the Haute-Sûre Nature Park, with routes through forests, hills, and along the Esch-sur-Sûre reservoir. Nearby lies the Müllerthal region, known as Luxembourg’s ‘Little Switzerland,’ featuring spectacular rock formations and gorges. Guttland also offers peaceful walking paths past castles and villages, while the south near Esch-sur-Alzette provides surprising contrasts between nature and industrial heritage.
