Mullerthal Trail
Hiking through Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland
The Mullerthal Trail consists of seven moderately challenging, mostly long, hiking trails, divided into three main routes (1, 2 & 3) and four extra tours (A, B, C & D). As the name suggests, each hiking trail leads you through the Mullerthal region, also known as Little Switzerland.
While walking the Mullerthal Trail, you’ll come across almost all types of natural beauty that this magnificent region has to offer. From dense forests to open pastures and with stunning views across picturesque stream valleys and weird and wonderful rock formations.
The three characteristic loops of the Mullerthal Trail are all unique in their own way. Route 1 offers changing landscapes that alternate between forests and meadows. Route 2 takes you to spectacular sandstone formations that are typical for the heart of Little Switzerland. According to many, this route is the most breathtaking. Route 3 takes you past enchanting steam valleys and ends at Beaufort with its mediaeval castle and Renaissance château.
Please note that due to work in the forests, heavy rainfall and the hunting season, parts of the trails may be difficult or impossible to access or off limits.
