Minett Trail
Spectacular route through the Land of the Red Earth
The Minett Trail is located in southern Luxembourg, in a region often called the “Land of the Red Earth” due to its iron-rich, reddish soil. This unique area blends scenic nature with industrial history and is popular among hikers and mountain bikers alike. The 90-kilometer trail is split into 11 stages ranging from 7 to 15 kilometers, with varying levels of difficulty. Although designed as a hiking path, the trail is also a favorite among mountain bikers looking for diverse terrain and stunning landscapes. Along the way, you'll pass through nine nature reserves and experience the region's impressive biodiversity – over 80 butterfly species have been recorded here. The route links key tourist spots like Fond-de-Gras and Esch-sur-Alzette and offers a perfect mix of nature, culture, and adventure.
