Paddle boating and SUP at Lake Echternach
Paddle peacefully and enjoy nature with a bistro stop
You can rent paddle boats on Lake Echternach, an artificial recreation lake of over 30 hectares just south of the town. You can also enjoy stand‑up paddleboarding (“SUP”). Note: swimming is not permitted.
Paddle boats and SUPs are available from gréng Schapp, located east of the lake. The bistro there serves food and drinks, and you can customize your own burger—including a vegan version.
It takes about 45 minutes to reach the lake from our holiday park. Free parking is available at the edge of the recreation area, and it’s a pleasant 400‑meter walk to the rental point.
The lake is surrounded by approximately 375 hectares of forest with various marked walking trails. Nearby is the remains of a Roman villa—among the most important north of the Alps—where only the pillars remain, but still worth a quick visit.
