Canoeing or kayaking is an ideal outdoor activity for couples or the whole family to enjoy. Get active while relaxing at the same time. Launch off from sites at Dillingen and Wallendorf-Pont, both of which are about half an hour’s drive away by car.
One of the most breathtaking areas for canoeing or kayaking is the Mullerthal region. Hire a canoe or kayak on the banks of the Sûre River in the village of Dillingen in Beaufort municipality. From Dillingen, paddle 14 kilometres along the Sûre River to get to the town of Echternach, the oldest town in Luxembourg, in the canton of Echternach. The trip to Echternach will take around three hours.
It is important to know that, just like other activities on the Sûre River, canoeing and kayaking are not allowed during certain times of the year and when the water level is low. To avoid disappointment, it is advisable to contact the company a couple of days before your planned excursion.
You can also hire a canoe or kayak in Wallendorf-Pont at RONN’s Bikes & Kayaks. Wallendorf-Pont is situated on the right bank of the Sûre River, not far from where the Our River flows into the Sûre. Wallendorf-Pont is connected to the German municipality of Wallendorf by two bridges spanning across the Sûre River. Make sure to enter the right location in your route planner.
