Adventurous kayaking on the Sûre
Luxembourg might not be the first place that comes to mind for water activities, but its many lakes and rivers offer a surprising variety of water-based recreation and sports. Whether you seek relaxation or thrills, there’s something for everyone.
What can you do? Canoeing or kayaking on the Sûre, for starters. Swimming, diving, surfing or sailing on the Upper Sûre Lake. Or enjoy pedal boating or stand-up paddling on the picturesque lake of Echternach, which is also a great spot for fishing.
Looking for adrenaline? Head to Ski Nautique Grevenmacher on the Moselle, where you can wakeboard or wakesurf at the natural border between Luxembourg and Germany.
Good to know: canoeing and kayaking, like many other activities on the Sûre, are not allowed year-round or during low water levels. To avoid disappointment, it’s best to check in advance.
In Wallendorf-Pont, you can rent a canoe or kayak at RONN’s Bikes & Kayaks. Located on the right bank of the Sûre, close to where the Our flows into it, Wallendorf-Pont is linked by two bridges to the German village of Wallendorf. Make sure you enter the correct location in your GPS.
